In the new movie featuring the funny Italian plumber that we all know from video games, he will be voiced by Chris Pratt, an actor known for his good performances in film series such as ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Jurassic.’
The role of the main antagonist of the film, meaning the legendary and terrifying Bowser, who’s madly in love with Princess Peach, will be taken by Jack Black, an actor famous for comedic roles. We’ve seen him in unforgettable comedy movies such as “School of Rock,” which was launched 20 years ago, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” from 2017, where he appeared alongside Dwayne Johnson, or “Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny” from 2006, where he had to find a powerful guitar pick to become a great rockstar.
Super Mario has a history of four decades
Super Mario was mainly only a video game character, but given its charm and rapid rise to popularity, it was only a matter of time until we would see it in cartoons, movies, and so on. The very first game in which Super Mario was the protagonist came out in 1983, and it was simply known as Mario Bros. It was released as an arcade game. A bit later, in 1985, the legendary plumber appeared in Super Mario Bros., a game for the 8-bit console known as Nintendo Entertainment System (abbreviated as NES).
In other words, Super Mario left behind an unfathomable legacy, as it appeared in about 200 more games after its initial release 40 years ago. That’s a truly incredible performance for a video game character.
