Windows Firewall is a security feature available in all Windows PC which is geared towards preventing unwanted or strange connections to your PC. On the other hand, several PUGB players encounter Windows Firewall interruptions which halt their gameplay activity.

How to configure Windows Firewall settings

Follow these steps:

  • Launch the ‘Steam’ app on your PC, > ‘Library’
  • You should right-click on PUBG and select ‘Properties’
  • From the options displayed, select ‘LOCAL FILES’ > ‘BROWSE LOCAL FILES’
  • You will be redirected to the PUBG game folder
  • In the game’s folder, click on TslGame, > click on ‘Binaries’ and select ‘Win64’
  • Copy the displayed directory link in the address bar
  • Create a new inbound rule for Windows Firewall
    • Open the control panel of your PC and click on ‘System and Security’ > click on ‘Windows Firewall’
    • You should click on ‘Advanced settings’ at the left panel
    • Click on ‘Inbound Rules’ at the top left panel and click on ‘New Rule’ at the top right panel
    • ‘Program’ is already selected by default
    • Click on ‘Next’ to proceed
    • Check the circle for ‘This program path’
    • Paste the copied link in the bar/rectangular box
    • ‘All the connection’ circle is already checked by default, click ‘Next’ to proceed
    • The boxes for the options of ‘When does this rule apply?’ are already ticked or checked by default, click ‘Next’ to proceed
    • Type a name for the rule in the ‘Name:’ bar (The name could be ‘PUBG inbound rule’ or any other name) and click on ‘Finish’.
  • You should create a new Outbound rule for your PC’s Windows Firewall
    • Still on ‘Windows Firewall with Advanced Security’ windows,
    • You should click on ‘Outbound Rules’ below ‘Inbound Rules’ and also click on ‘New Rule’
    • ‘Program’ is already selected by default
    • Click on ‘Next’ to proceed
    • Check the circle for ‘This program path’
    • Paste the copied link in the bar/rectangular box
    • ‘All the connection’ circle is already checked by default, click ‘Next’ to proceed
    • The boxes for the options of ‘When does this rule apply?’ are already ticked or checked by default, click ‘Next’ to proceed
    • Type a name for the rule in the ‘Name:’ bar (The name could be ‘PUBG outbound rule’ or any other name) and click on ‘Finish’.
  • You should close all open windows and restart your PC
  • Launch the game to verify if the issue is fixed.
