Three years have passed since Pokémon Go was released, but the popular augmented reality game is played by millions of people from all over the world.
The title allows players to become Pokémon Trainers while encouraging them to walk around and explore new places. By using Pokéball, players have the option to capture new Pokémon and increase their collection. Trainers can duel each other to prove that their Pokémon are better or battle for the ownership of a Gym, a special place with nets additional rewards and bragging rights for those who can control them.
Pokémon Go is available for free, but players have the option to pay real-world money if they wish to acquire certain consumable items. Those who do not wish to pay have the option to visit Pokéstops, which offer a few items for free. Most Pokéstops are placed near an iconic location and landmarks.
The third anniversary of the game will be celebrated with a large number of in-game reward and events. From June 28 at 4 p.m. ET players will have the chance to encounter Shiny Alolan Pokémon , including Meowth, Geodude and Vulpix among others. Avatar items will allow players to customize their looks according to their wishes.
Players who attempt to take a Go Snapshot will have the pleasure to be photobombed by Pikachu wearing party hats. You can keep one of the party Pikachu by hatching it from a 7 kilometers egg before July 6.
If you enjoy raids, this is the right season for you. Premier balls will drop during Raids until September 2, allowing players to take more shots at grabbing that sweet Raid Pokémon. Stardust trades are also discounted by up to 25% and new Special Research tasks will guide returning players as they explore the new features.
Data miners have discovered signs which infer that Team Rocket could make an appearance shortly. It is thought that players may wage battle against Team Rocket grunts, but that remains to be seen.
