Halo: Infinite To Be The First Title To Come On The Next-gen Xbox Scarlett Console

Microsoft had a lot of things to announce at the E3 2019 briefing, but one of the company’s biggest reveals was the new narrative trailer for the upcoming Halo: Infinite and the affirmation that the game will be an Xbox Scarlett launch title, and it will release in the holiday season of 2020.

Halo: Infinite presented during E3 2019 gaming conference

The launch date in 2020 is something big for a series of reasons. By then, it will have been more than five years after the launch of Halo 5: Guardians back in 2015, supposing that Halo: Infinite will launch after October 2020. Moreover, Halo hasn’t been a launch title for the new Xbox consoles since it first launched its original title, Halo: Combat Evolved.

Halo: Infinite is being worked on at 343 Industries, and it is powered by the studio’s all-new Slipspace game engine. Studio director Chris Lee made an appearance on the Inside Xbox live stream at E3 where he depicted how 343 Industries’ bold ambition for Halo: Infinite might not have been achievable with the Halo franchise’s prior game motor. He also detailed how the Slipspace engine is targeted at supporting Halo games for the next ten years.

Chris Lee has also confirmed that the Halo: Infinite teaser appearing in Microsoft’s E3 briefing was, in fact, the launching cinematic from the title. The trailer depicted Master Chief in a lousy manner, but no one can kill him, though. He returns intending to restore order into the galaxy, or something similar to this.

Microsoft has yet to reveal the actual gameplay, though, and there is no confirmation and no details regarding the changes or upgrades the game will come with on the multiplayer option. Halo: Infinite is a launch title for the next generation Xbox Scarlett console, but it will also be available on every Xbox One consoles model. The game will come for PC as well.
