Pokémon GO Brings Groudon as a Raid Boss, Releasing New Legendary Pokémon In The Wild

After the Earth Day event that took place this month, Niantic increased the chance of users catching ground-type Pokémon, also bringing more item rewards and legendary Pokémon. Because the Earth Day event had a massive success around the world, Niantic has begun rewarding the players.

For Earth Day, Niantic announced that if many communities clean up the environment in their local communities, they will receive special in-game rewards.

Reports from GameSpot show that around 14,800 users were part of the events. This is why Niantic is also rolling out a limited time event which includes Ground-type Pokémon like Diglett, Geodude, Sandshrew, Cubone and more! You can also get the chance of catching Shiny Diglett! As for the raid, Legendary Pokémon Groudon will be a Tier 5 boss.

Players will also get twice as much Candy and Stardust as long as the event will take place.

The Earth Day 2019 rewards have begun on April 29, at 1:00 PM and will end on May 2, at 1:00 PM PDT. Hurry up to make most of the event!

Meanwhile, you might also stumble upon some Legendary Pokemon…

New Legendary Pokémon In the Wild

In other Pokémon Go news, Niantic has announced on the game’s Twitter that new legendary monsters have appeared in the wild:

After the tweet, some players reported on Reddit that they found the Legendary Pokemon Azelf in the wild in Arlington, VA. Azelf is part of the “Lake Guardian” trio. The three Legendary Pokemon appeared in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. Some players also found Uxie in Asia.

This is the first time you can catch a Legendary Pokemon in the wild, not just after a Raid Battle or a Research Breakthrough! We will learn more about these three Legendary Pokemon in the next day, but we should all keep looking for Azelf, Mesprit, or Uxie. We might get lucky and see them pop up near us!
