FIFA 21 Demo: Official Reveal Trailer, Leaks, New Career Mode Features, Gameplay Cover Star, Latest News, Beta, Download Size, Teams, Game Modes & more

FIFA 21 is just around the corner, and the first we’ll see of it will be via the FIFA 21 demo.

With this in mind, let’s go over what we know about the demo so far.

Latest News – Potential Gameplay Leaks

While this is of course unverified, there have been some potential leaks of FIFA 21 Beta gameplay.

The supposed leaks come from Twitter account @FIFA21Betaa – and one clip shows Mohamad Salah celebrating.

The account also posted supposed looks at the game’s advertising hoardings.

Again, these are unconfirmed, but could be our first looks at FIFA 21 gameplay.

Official Reveal Trailer

EA have finally dropped FIFA 21’s Official Reveal Trailer, and it’s got us quite excited for release day!

You can watch the trailer below:

We expect more significant looks at gameplay closer to release, but for now, this is a very welcome look into what’s to come.

New Career Mode Features

Thanks to some new announcements, we now also know FIFA 21’s Career Mode will include some brand new features!

This includes loan to buy offers, and a new positional change growth system to give players plenty of options for where they’ll play on the pitch.

Cover Star Revealed

EA have officially announced FIFA 21’s cover star, Kylian Mbappe!

The PSG strike will be on all 3 edition covers for FIFA 21, which puts a hole in many of the cover theories that were floating around before the announcement.

Playable Demo Teams

RealSport’s Tom Young had a look at the possible teams we could see on the Demo.

We believe Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid and PSG are likely to feature, with an extra two coming from possibly Borussia Dortmund and a Serie A club.

FIFA 21 Demo Release Date

FIFA 21 is set to release on Friday, October 9 2020.

It’s unclear as to when the Demo could be released, with the new game coming out two weeks later than usual.

If we were to pinpoint a date, this would be Monday, 21 September, which is just under three weeks until full release.

Download

The FIFA 21 Demo will be available to download on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

All you need to do his head to the PlayStation, Xbox Live or Origin store – search FIFA 21 and install the demo!

The size of the download should be around 8GB.

Will it be free?

You may be wondering if the demo will cost you anything?

Well, rest assured it should be completely free as it was last year with FIFA 20.

It seems likely that this will be the case this year, especially with EA even giving those who pre-order early access, and of course those who sign up to EA Access too.

What will be in the Demo?

There is always a big difference between demos and the full game. This largely extends to which game modes players can access, teams, and the more in depth options available.

Graphically speaking, it’s very unlikely there will be any difference between the demo and the main game, but what we could see is shorter match times and limited gameplay options.

EA haven’t confirmed as of yet what will be in the demo, but we’re sure it’ll give us a great idea of what to expect in the full game.

Beta

Something you may not know is that there is a closed beta for FIFA titles.

GOLDEN TICKET – Will you be lucky enough to beta taste FIFA 21?

Players who have racked up the hours on FIFA on certain game modes will get the opportunity to beta test.

There is likely to be separate beta testers for each of Career Mode, Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs & Volta Football.

Head here to read everything we know about the FIFA 21 Beta.

Teams

In FIFA 20’s Demo, the teams available in the Champions League kick-off were:

  • Borussia Dortmund
  • Chelsea
  • Liverpool
  • Paris Saint-Germain
  • Real Madrid
  • Tottenham Hotspur

With EA adding the Copa Libertadores licences midway through FIFA 20, maybe we could see some South American teams also appear.

With us yet to get a look and the brand new MLS franchises, Inter Miami and Nashville SC, perhaps they could feature in the demo.

Game modes

Expect Volta Football to return in the demo, as we wait to see if EA make any changes to the street mode for FIFA 21.

VOLTA Football

Volta Football was rolled out on the FIFA 20 last year, and any substantial changes should appear on the trial this year too.

HIGH VOLTAGE – Will we see some changes to Volta?

A return to the more arcade feel of FIFA Street would go down a hit with fans. Such a substantial change for FIFA 21 may just come a bit soon.

Ultimate Team

As for Ultimate Team, it’s unlikely we’ll get a look at this during the demo.

Gameplay

For most, the demo will present the first chance to get a flavour of FIFA 20’s gameplay.

Dribbling, defending and finishing were the significant changes for FIFA 20, with far more intelligent tactical play.

Let’s hope that FIFA 21 brings us even closer to the real thing.

Next Gen?

Although Next Gen consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series X, will not be out when FIFA 21 is released, we may yet see a trial version of the game when the platforms are rolled out before Christmas.

The Next Gen versions do not have their own copy of the game, but there will be some enhancements in playing the game on PS5 or Xbox Series X.

Whether we see a demo on Next Gen remains to be seen, but with the game free for those who have already purchased the PS4 or Xbox One version, a Next Gen demo seems unlikely.

FIFA 21 Demo for Nintendo Switch?

It was announced that FIFA 21 will be getting a version for Nintendo Switch – FIFA 21 Legacy Edition.

There’s no confirmation as of yet, as to whether we’ll see the demo for Switch – however it would seem unlikely if they didn’t.

The Legacy Edition will have updated menus and kits, but won’t have the new gameplay innovations of FIFA 21 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Still, we’re excited to get our hands on the game on the ever-popular console!

Pre-Orders Now Open

A Demo is one way of playing the game early, but if you pre-order certain editions of FIFA 21, you’ll be granted three days early access to the full game!
