That’s no bad thing given the capability of the machine and how much the developers can improve things in the next generation of gaming.
Dual Access
The only way to carry NBA 2K21 over from PS4 to PS5 without buying the game twice (that we know of right now) will be via the Mamba Forever Edition – 2K’s tribute to Kobe Bryant.
At £84.99/$99.99 it isn’t cheap, but given the amazing cover art and the Dual Access it may be worth the price.
Next-gen cover star
Zion Williamson will be on the cover of NBA 2K21 when it arrives on the PS5.
When the new console arrives, NBA 2K21 players will be rewarded with this amazing piece of cover art.
NBA 2K21 on PS5
We got our first look at NBA 2K21 at the PS5 reveal event.
It wasn’t much, but we did see in-engine shots of Zion Williamson putting in work on the practice court.
We didn’t get a defined release date, but we did get a release date window in the official reveal trailer, a window of Fall 2020.
This will come much sooner than we expect next-gen consoles, currently slated for holiday 2020, so players will be faced with a choice to make.

PS5 Specs
Whilst statistics suggest that console gaming is more popular than PC gaming, it is no secret that gaming PCs have the capabilities to pack far more power than consoles.
However, with the PS5, Sony is set to bridge the gap even further.
It will have a new eight-core AMD CPU based on AMD’s new 7nm Zen 2 architecture, and a custom GPU based on its new Radeon Navi hardware. These chips will bring huge benefits, including support for up to 8K graphics, ray tracing, and 3D audio.

What does this mean though? Well, in short, it means that the gaming experience on the PS5 should be tenfold to the PS4 in just about every single aspect.
The main thing which will please fans of sports titles such as 2K is the boost to loading screen times, which will be almost non-existent on Sony’s new super console.

Whilst we love the MyCAREER on 2K20, the loading times between scenes can be somewhat tedious. You won’t need to worry about this on the PS5, making those cinematic scenes even more impressive.

What does this mean for NBA 2K21?
Whilst the graphics on 2K20 are pretty impressive, the power that the PS5 possesses with its 8k graphics and ray tracing will allow developers like 2K Games to create a hyper-realistic environment and ensure that player’s faces look better than ever.

Dual Entitlement?
EA has taken a huge step forward in the next-gen move by introducing Dual Entitlement, which will allow those that purchase FIFA 21 and Madden 21 on current-gen consoles to get a free upgrade to next-gen.
This will help bridge the gap between expected release dates and the release of next gen consoles, which is currently slated for holiday 2020.
