Game of Thrones spinoff, House of the Dragon CONFIRMED for May 2022 Release, Emilia Clark and Kit Harrington are OFFICIALLY Returning

Looks like the tale from Westeros hasn’t completed yet, and there’s still a lot to tell. HBO has ordered straight to series for the new Game of Thrones spinoff, House of the Dragon.

House of the Dragon is one of two confirmed spinoff of HBO blockbuster, Game of Thrones—the other one is Bloodmoon. The successor spinoff series will tell the story of the same royal line, of which Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen was part of—House Targaryen. The spinoff series will take place somewhere 300 years ago from the events of Game of Thrones.

Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik will serve as the showrunner for the upcoming epic fantasy drama. HBO also confirmed that the show is based on the novel Fire and Blood, written by George R.R. Martin. Fire and Blood isn’t the part of the original seven novels of A Song of Ice and Fire—from which Game of Thrones was inspired. Fire and Blood also serve as the spinoff of original fantasy book series and is one of the two volumes, which tells the tales of House Targaryen.

Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington are likely to return!

The recent reports claimed that at some point in the spinoff series, few familiar faces would make their return. Emilia Clarke played Daenerys Targaryen in the Game of Thrones, and she is an important part of House Targaryen. Emilia Clark’s Daenerys has an incredible fanbase, and part of the reason Game of Thrones was successful, is because of Clark’s performance. Similarly, Kit Harrington’s Jon Snow also has an exceptional influence on Daenerys’ life. He may be the other actor to reprise in the series.

House of the Dragon would probably be the web television series after HBO launched a streaming service, HBO Max. HBO executive Casey Bloys announced that the anticipated series would debut on the streaming service in May 2022. The 10-episode will be the first spin-off series to stream out of five proposed successor series of Game of Thrones. House of the Dragon moved forward because the story of House Targaryen serves as the backbone for Game of Thrones, and probable A Song of Fire and Ice.
