Black Mirror Season 6 is reportedly on the cards, but the production company and Netflix are yet to announce the renewal. The series of posters teasing the upcoming season recently surfaced online. Charlie Booker, the show creator, recently claimed that he had been working on comedic projects.
The dystopian black comedy mainly focuses on the consequences of modern and new technologies in humanity. Every episode of the series is standalone and different from each other. The episodes have a dark comedy genre with a satirical tone. House of Tomorrow and Zeppotron has produced five seasons of Black Mirror along with one special and one film.
Black Mirror Season 6: Release Date
Fans have been asking about the confirmation and release date of Black Mirror since the conclusion of season five. The new season would be produced by a new production company founded by showrunners Brooker and Jones. Brooker and Jones founded a new production company named Broke and Bones, in February 2020, where both creators have a 50% stake.
Even though there is less noise about the upcoming season. Fans already believe that the creators are working on the sixth part. Brooker previously confirmed that Will Poulter is going to appear in future Black Mirror episodes. Will Poulter appeared as Colin Ritman in 2018’s Black Mirror film, Bandersnatch. Brooker mentioned that Ritman knows that there are multiple realities and alternate timelines.
Coronavirus pandemic has also uplifted the hype for the upcoming season of Black Mirror. During the worldwide lockdown due to pandemic, a dark advertisement popped up in several bus stops across Spain. The ads in bus stop read, Season 6, Live Now, Everywhere. However, this exactly doesn’t mean that sixth season is available but the creators want us to realize that the current situation is sixth season of Black Mirror.
Black Mirror has become a cult hit, and Netflix won’t easily cancel the popular series like Black Mirror. The last season aired last year, consisting of only three episodes. We can expect the next Black Mirror sometime in 2022.
