Madden 21’s closed beta period gave many players a look at the next big football game.
Let’s go over what Madden 21’s closed beta format was, what was included, and who got invited.
Gameplay
Based on feedback from players invited to the beta, we’ve got some new things that could be coming to Madden 21.
One rumor is that Lamar Jackson has his own X-Factor ability that prevents fumbling during its use.
Another pair of supposed leaks were posted on Reddit claiming to list all of the abilities that were in the beta.
Some of the most exciting X-Factor abilities featured in both lists include:
- Film Study – This ability shows offensive plays after repeated play calls, which will allow tricky defenders to solve any cheese play and scout out hot routes.
- Dashing Deadeye – This ability allows for perfect pass accuracy up to 40 yards when on the run.
- Pro Reads – Highlights the first open target & ignores pressure
Game Modes
Madden 21 included Play Now and Online Head-to-Head gameplay with four teams to choose from: The Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
That gave players access to some of the most exciting players this year, like Tom Brady leading the Buccaneers, Lamar Jackson, and Super Bowl Champion Patrick Mahomes.
