2K has just announced that Zion Williamson will be the next-gen cover athlete.
Within the press release for that announcement, was confirmation that they will reveal the release date for the game on 2 July!
NBA 2K21 release date
There is no firm release date for NBA 2K21 yet, but in the Official Reveal Trailer the window of Fall 2020 was shown.
We now know that an announcement will be coming soon!

NBA 2K titles have slowly been moving forward in the last few years.
2K17 was released on 23 September, with 18 coming on 19 Sept, then 11, an last year’s title dropped on 6 September…

Cover athlete
Who will be on the cover is always a big question when it comes to sports games.
2K has announced that Damian Lillard will be the cover star for current-generation platforms.
However, 2K has also said there will be a total of three cover athletes for NBA 2K21. That leaves us with a next-gen cover star, and a Legends Edition cover star.
The reveal trailer makes it seem likely that Zion Williamson will be the next-gen star.

But for the Legends Edition, one name certainly stands out… Kobe Bryant.
