EA has already unveiled the cover star for Madden 21, but we are still waiting for new on the FIFA 21 cover star!
There have been plenty of rumours as to which player will feature on FIFA 21 – keep reading to find out what we’ve deduced so far.
FIFA 21 Cover Star Reveal date prediction
With FIFA 20, we saw the cover star announced around July 2019, but the title itself released in September.
This time around, we have a release date of 9 October 2020, so if we use this pattern, we could expect the reveal in August.

Football fans will be aware the Champions League has been pushed back to August, so perhaps the cover star could be revealed with the trophy soon after the final on Sunday, 23 August.
Mbappe rumours intensify
Kylian Mbappe has taken the footballing world by storm over the last few years.
It’s only a matter of time before he gets a FIFA cover, and he may be the FIFA 21 cover star.

A French report about Mbappe and LeBron James coming together with a clothing brand also said that Mbappe was on the FIFA 21 cover.
Obviously we have to wait for EA to confirm this, but the young star is certainly worthy of the spot.
FIFA 21 Cover Star Top Contenders
After just a sneak reveal during EA Play, there are a couple of players who have emerged as potential FIFA 21 Cover Stars.
Kylian Mbappe – features heavily the EA Next Gen trailer for FIFA and Madden 21
Mohamed Salah – featured in a FIFA 21 screenshot of Anfield stadium

Sadio Mane – also featured in the Anfield screenhot
Virgil van Dijk – FIFA 20’s Champions Edition cover star, he features in a screenshot going up for a header
Kevin De Bruyne – early rumours suggest the Man City star will grace the cover
Raheem Sterling – has featured prominently for EA and FIFA in the past
Jadon Sancho – Dortmund has a great relationship with EA, as does Sancho
FIFA 21 Cover Colour Scheme
Despite no cover star named, we do have an idea as to what the FIFA 21 cover will look like!

The FIFA 21 logo has a new font, with the Standard Edition having a white and purple look to it.
The Champions Edition is purple and cyan, with the Ultimate Edition black and purple.
EA Play
The FIFA 21 reveal at EA Play did NOT reveal the next cover star.
However, from the trailer we did see Kylian Mbappe feature heavily which could be a clue.

Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho featured in the Volta reveal last year, and although never made the cover, they are two prominent EA athletes.
It remains to be seen who will be on the front of FIFA 21, but we should find out very soon!

FIFA 20 Cover Stars
Eden Hazard did take the front cover of FIFA 20, but only on the Standard Edition.

Fittingly, the Champions Edition went to Champions League winner Virgil van Dijk – so perhaps the next man to grace the cover will win the European Cup this August.

Of course, there is also the Ultimate Edition which went to new FIFA 20 ICON Zinedine Zidane.
Could a new legend coming to FIFA 21 appear this time?

Next Gen Trailer
This trailer, a hybrid of FIFA and Madden 21, gives some clues of some of the big players for EA this year.
Can you spot any stars that could grace the cover?
Borussia Dortmund’s Raphael Guerreiro features early on, followed by Kylian Mbappe and Eden Hazard.
Lucas Moura and Virgil van Dijk are highlighted, as is Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley.
EA Sports partner clubs
We can almost guarantee that the FIFA 21 cover star will come from one of EA Sports partner clubs.

These include Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, PSG, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, so expect our next cover star to be one of the top talents for these sides.
Both Madrid clubs are linked with a partnership with PES 2021, but that is up in the air after both clubs featured in EA’s recent trailer.
