OnePlus 7 Pro Confirmed to Have a Three Camera Array

Just recently on Twitter, OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro will come with a camera with 3x optical zoom, and that it can challenge the top-tier devices on the market. The devices will be officially announced on May 14, but the phone’s imaging director has already confirmed this one rumor. However, the setup of the cameras is still unknown, but Simon Liu, the imagining director has revealed to Wired numerous details of the device’s photography system. The added optical zoom to the OnePlus devices was something fans requested on the company’s forum. Although all latest OnePlus phones have the digital zoom, but Liu said that the OnePlus 7 Pro will be a good competition to the front row smartphones.

Besides the triple camera array, OnePlus’ latest device will also come with 10x zoom, even though there is no Time-of-Flight sensor on it, usually for measuring the distance and depth.

Shutter Lag

Even though OnePlus still keeps the details of both phones until the full unveil in May, Wired’s test of the camera shows a lot, including the shutter lag of only 0.3 seconds. This feature makes capturing pictures feel instant and not Pixel 3-fast.

Auto HDR

The device also includes Auto HDR that allows users to point the camera straight at the sun and still be able to capture a great photo with accurate colors. There’s also a built-in burst mode, but with a limit of 20-frames.

Portrait Mode

Liu said that the portraid shot is more natural this time around, the bokeh effect being closer to that of professional lenses.

Night Mode

There’s a new Night Mode that’s seemingly closer to the status of the Huawei P30 Pro’s amazing night mode processing, having less light appear and a cleaner look when the images are captured. The mode takes incredible pictures at night.
