2K has just announced that Zion Williamson will be the next-gen cover athlete.

Within the press release for that announcement, was confirmation that they will reveal the release date for the game on 2 July!

NBA 2K21 release date

There is no firm release date for NBA 2K21 yet, but in the Official Reveal Trailer the window of Fall 2020 was shown.

Cover athlete

Who will be on the cover is always a big question when it comes to sports games.

2K has announced that Damian Lillard will be the cover star for current-generation platforms.

However, 2K has also said there will be a total of three cover athletes for NBA 2K21. That leaves us with a next-gen cover star, and a Legends Edition cover star.

The reveal trailer makes it seem likely that Zion Williamson will be the next-gen star.
