Homeland is an American Spy thriller series which is based on an Israeli series Prisoners of War. It is developed by Howard Gordan and Alex Gansa.
This series stars Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, who is a CIA agent with a bipolar disorder and Damian Lewis as Nicholas Brody, who is a U.S Marine Corps Scout Sniper. Mathison believes that Brody is a threat to the United States, who was first held captive by al-Qaeda.
The plot of season 8:-
In the earlier seasons, we saw Carrie Mathison is no longer an officer. She changes a couple of jobs after that. In season 7, we saw her moving back to D.C to live with her sister.
In season 8, we see a continuation from the previous storyline. In this season, we see her still in Russia still recovering from her brutal treatment as a prisoner. This season we also see Saul wanting to take her back to Afghanistan. He thinks she will prove worthy and useful as she already knows about the place. He is tasked to be a negotiator between Afghanistan and the Taliban.

Season 8 was the final season of the series, which was aired from 9th February 2020 to 26th April 2020. It appeared on the original network ‘Showtime.’It has 12 episodes, just like the previous seasons.

The cast of season 8 includes Claire Danes, Maury Sterling, Costa Ronin, Nimrat Kaur, Mandy Patinkin, Numan Acar, and Linus Roache. There are also some new members in season 8, which creates a more interesting plot.
The initial reviews of this season have been quite positive. It has been very well received amongst the audience and critics both. On Rotten Tomatoes, the season has an approval rate of 85% based on 25 comments.
