Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set for 17 November 2020, but there is still plenty of gameplay details yet to be discovered in the highly anticipated Viking RPG.
We’ve seen how it plays in the gameplay extensive gameplay reveal, however, there were actually some gameplay ‘mini-reveals’ in the character trailer, which you may have missed.

So let’s jump into it.
The very latest gameplay reveal came courtesy of Ubisoft Forward. They really pulled out all the stops this time around, after a seemingly divisive ‘first reveal’ at an earlier Inside Xbox event.

With SO much gameplay on offer here, we thought we’d highlight some of the best points about the reveal, and some of the gameplay we’re looking forward to getting into when it releases.
Stylish Finishing Moves
Assassin’s Creed titles are known for their brutal, but beautfiully choreographed finishers.
We got to see some of these on display early on in the reveal, including one where an unfortunate soldier is lifted up with an axe to the ribs, then has an axe thrown in his face.
Wowzas.
Choose Wisely
Even though the trailer showed off some impressive battle sequences, it looks like the game will be more than just intense action!
According to Ubisoft nearly every decision you make has lasting effects throughout the world and using violence isn’t the only way forward.

Apparently, using persuasion in dialogue with people can also be an effective tool at a time when diplomacy could come in handy!
Know your enemy
Ubisoft has also confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will feature the most varied collection of enemies ever found in Assassin’s Creed!
Your main enemy appears to be King Alfred (Aelfred) the Great, who was victorious over the Vikings after a truce was called in the 9th Century.
Everyone in your way will employ different tactics, from ganging up to throwing their fallen comrades directly at you! Brutal!
Ready the Assault!
Surprise assaults and sieges with your band of merry men and women look an absolute blast in the game.

You’ll have control over a clan in which you can conduct surprise attacks from your longship and pillage enemy territories to bring riches and resources back to your people.
Dual Wielding
In the new game, you’ll be able to unleash the ruthless fighting style of a Viking warrior and dual-wield axes, swords, or even shields against fierce, relentless foes.
You can also fight smart, by choosing the right tactics, opting to either dismember opponents in close-quarters combat, riddle them with arrows, or assassinate them with your hidden blade.
