Hand-on with the DualSense Controller
The video by Geoff Keighley goes into a deep dive of just what the PS5 DualSense controller can do.
There is a built-in game called Astro’s Playroom, which is seemingly designed to showcase this impressive controller.
Let’s get started.
After jumping into one of the maps, he takes the character through a sand-storm. This prompts some crisp and clean sounds to come out of the controller, mimicking the sand particles flying past the character.
There’s another moment which shows him walking through an ice storm, with similar effects. But even the character’s footsteps come through the controller’s speaker.
On the video, it’s hard to pick up in complete clarity, but we’ll take his word for it!
Next up our character steps into a mechanical frog suit. The game gives us a preview of how tension can be felt in the triggers!
This was also shown in a few other situations – which mostly revolved around pulling and releasing.
Pretty amazing stuff, and as Geoff says, the possibilities in games on the PS5 is huge with this feature.
PS5 DualSense Controller hands-on announcement
The tweet, from Geoff Keighley, shows him picking up the DualSense controller and explaining that he’d be doing the hands-on.
The DualSense controller has only really been seen in promo material for the PS5. Much like the PS5 itself, people are keen to see it in the flesh. Which makes us think about one other thing.
Could we find out more about the PS5 size?
We know the PS5 has been revealed already, but seemingly no one has seen what it looks like in the real world.
There have been numerous discussions about how big it is, however we haven’t had a concrete answer as to the dimensions just yet.
The best way to get a sense of how large the console will be is by seeing it in relation to its surroundings, with a real video.
We don’t know just yet as to how likely it will be, but we’ve got our fingers crossed we’ll see more of the PS5 on show than ever before.
