In the last few years, Japanese light novels have acted as the source for many anime series. And ‘Our Last Crusade…’ is the newest light novel adaptation. Kei Sazane writes the story, with Ao Nekonabe illustrating it. The novel series started serializing since 2017 and has seven volumes to date. And at 2019’s ‘Fantasia Bunko’ event, the book received an anime adaptation.
Although not as well known, the novel series has a dedicated fanbase. Furthermore, news of the adaptation has got viewers very excited about the anime.

Ever since the announcement, speculation about the release date was going on. But, now we can confirm when the anime will premiere. The scheduled release date is in October this year. At the moment, an exact date is unavailable. However, we assume that within a month or two, we’ll have the definite premiere date.

Previously, the creators of the anime announced the name of the protagonists. So, we know that Yusuke Kobayashi will play Iska. And, Sora Amamiya will portray Aliceliese Lou Nebulis IX. Furthermore, we can also confirm the other characters who’ll appear in the anime. Also, fans will get to see Shunichi Toki as Jhin Syulargun and Kaori Ishihara as Nene Alkastone in the new series. And joining them, Nao Shiraki (Mismis Klass) and Yumiri Hanamori (Rin Vispose) will also appear in the anime.

For now, we don’t have much information about it. However, the anime will follow the novel’s story. So we presume that the plot will take place in a fictional universe. And in this setting, two nations exist. Nebulis, a country consisting of witches, is one of the nations. Also, they are at war with an advanced empire. Moreover, the story will focus on the empire’s strongest knight as he falls in love with the witch princess. Together, they will try to put an end to the prolonged war.

We also know that Silver Link will be the studio behind the anime. Additionally, Shin Onuma and Mirai Minato will serve as the series director. Also, Kaori Sato will be the chief animation director. As for the music, Elements Garden will be composing for the series. A few weeks ago, Funimation announced that they had gotten the right to stream the series.
Regarding the opening theme, Kaori Ishihara will be singing it. And Sora Amamiya will sing the ending song.
