The Promised Neverland, the manga series, is of Japanese origin. Kaiu Shirai has written the series. At the same time, the illustrator is Posuka Demizu. A weekly Shonen Jump serialized the manga series. Moreover, Shueisha published the individual chapters. As of June 2020, the manga series has 20 volumes.

Furthermore, there is an anime adaptation of the manga series.CloverWorks is the adaptor of the manga. The first season of the anime series premiered from January to March 2019. In addition to this, official announcements made way for a second season to grace screens. And fans are delighted!

The first season consisted of 12 episodes, and the director is Mamoru Kanbe. Reports are, Amazon Studios is developing a live-action series. This series would be an English Language adaptation.

The Promised Neverland Season 2: Release Date

The second season of the anime adaptation was announced back in March 2019.  Furthermore, in the 18th issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump, the series was officially confirmed. The series was to premiere in October 2020. But it was delayed due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fortunately, the series is all set to grace screens by January 2021. So, the wait might be a bit longer, but worth it. Until then, stay tuned.

The Promised Neverland Season 2: Cast

The voice cast for season 2, has yet not been confirmed officially. But we’re hoping that the cast from the previous season returns to reprise their roles. The last cast voice of season 1 includes:

  • Maaya Uchida has expressed norman
  • Mariya Ise has voiced Ray
  • YÅ«ko Kaida has expressed isabella
  • Nao Fujita has expressed krone
  • Mami Koyama has voiced Sarah/Grandmother
  • Ari Ozawa has voiced conny
  • Shinei Ueki has represented Don
  • Lynn has voiced Gilda.

The Promised Neverland Season 2: Plot

The first season of the promised Neverland has a total of 12 episodes. These twelve episodes follow the manga series from chapter 1 to chapter 37. Thus, season 2 will follow right after chapter 37. It is still unknown up to where the manga series will follow in the upcoming season.

In season 1, we saw the Jailbreak Arc, and Introduction was covered. And also, various other individual chapters were included. These special chapters are introduced as extra pages in the manga volumes.

According to various theories, season 2 shall follow different arcs, including the Promised Forest Arc and the Search for Minerva Arc. Likely, season 2 may also follow the Goldy Pond Battle Arc.

Furthermore, the forthcoming episodes may focus on Emma’s rebellion. And also. Her fight to save the destiny of the children in the orphanage.

The Promised Neverland Season 2: Storyline

The storyline of the manga series is set much ahead in the future, in the year 2045. Grace Field House, the orphanage is the main focus of the story. The main protagonist of the series is Emma, an 11-year-old girl. She lives in an orphanage with 37 other kids. Her life seems to be beautiful with gourmet foods, soft beds, and proper clothing. Moreover, they receive love from the caretaker, Isabella.

The other characters of the story include Ray and Norman. The story begins when a family adopts an orphan. As the orphan, Conny had left behind his toy, Emma and Norman follow him. But they find the dead body of Conny. And the orphanage turns out to be just a façade. The Grace Field House prepares kids as meat for the demons. Thus their rebellion begins to run away from the orphanage.
