Spanish drama series, La Reina del Sur (The Queen of the South). Juan Marcos Blanco writes the series, Valentina Parraga, directed by Mauricio Cruz and Walter Doehner. The show is based on the book under the same name. The first season of the show came in 2011, and after waiting for eight years, the makers dropped the second season in 2019.

It is difficult to say that it might release anytime soon in 2020. Although we believe the creators and producers are working on season 3 and we might see a new season of our favorite show in early 2021.

The cast for Season 3, if renewed, will have all these characters back. We loved our protagonist, and her naive nature Kate del Castillo will be seen again in season 4 as Teresa. Other than her, Mendoza Humberto Zurita as Epifiano Vargas, Raoul Bova, playing as Mendoza’s love interest Francesco Lupo Belmondo, Paola Nunez playing the antagonist Kira, Antonio Gil is acting as Oleg Yasikov, a close friend to Teresa.

We saw how the second season took us eight years further in Teressa’s life in Italian Tuscany, where she wanted to live a simple life with her daughter and vanish the past. Even after years, she is dragged back into the underworld drug trafficking after her daughter Sophia is kidnapped.
In the end, we saw how fueled she was with rage in her eyes and a plan in her mind to take revenge for her daughter’s kidnap. In season three, we might witness her project and how she executes it to take revenge. She is one powerful woman who has a bitter past but isn’t scared of anyone. The plotting and drama in season three will leave us thrilled like never before.
