Mario fans will be happy to find out that Dr. Mario World has been out since mid-July and is now available to play at their pleasure. The puzzle game has been specially designed for the mobile platform. The game uses the touchscreen function of smartphones to create its mechanics.
Players need to drag capsules around the screen to combat viruses. The challenge is that the player receives a limited number of capsules in order to eliminate viruses. Another tricky feature of the game is that the viruses are split into 4 colors that also mix between them. So, your color association skills would come in handy here.
Sidekick special abilities
Something that will give you an edge in Dr. Mario Wolrd is the help of your fellow doctors that act as your assistants. Each assistant has a special skill that aids you in busting these viruses. The assistants include Goomba, Koopa Troopa, and Buzzy Beetle. But Mario can take a break once in a while because Peach, Bowser and other characters are doctors on call too.
Stage Mode
Pretty simple stuff here. This is the mode you conduct most of your activities. These mainly include eliminating viruses to clear levels. These get trickier as you advance as viruses get trickier to combat with limited capsules, you get obstacles on the map, and even gravity stars to mess around.
There are different worlds marked by grass, desert, beach, ghosts, and sky with 20 levels to each kind of theme. These levels will also have a time factor, so you can’t sit there forever to think about a solution.
Versus Mode
When the levels of the game start to bore you than you can choose to play against a human. How this works is that you make life more difficult for you opponents by clearing your viruses and sending them their way.
The attack power of your doctor influences how many viruses you can ship to your opponent at a time. This also influenced the attack meter, which is a sort of loading bar that tells you when to hit the button to offload the viruses.
